Finance Assistant

Salary: Equivalent to £24,000 per year. The contract is for 18 hours per week, on average over a month (full time hours 37.5), pro-rata salary is £11,520

Location: This role may be office based in Manchester or Brighton or performed remotely, or a mix of the two. However, if remote, you will be required to do your induction at our Manchester office (1 week) and travel to Manchester around 6 times per year. All expenses for travel, accommodation and expenses will be covered.

Gaydio is the UK's LGBTQ+ station, providing a 24 hour broadcast service across the UK. We also deliver a number of events including the annual Gaydio Pride Awards and monthly our monthly Gaydio Presents Networking events. To support our expansion across the business we’re looking for someone to support our Finance function. As part of this role, you'll be based in one of our offices, or perhaps home based.

Responsibilities
-    Book-keeping across all companies that we operate, including accounts receivable & payable
-    Accurately recording all financial information on our finance system (Xero)
-    Filing VAT returns
-    Producing reports for the board
-    Booking travel and accommodation for our team
-    Preparing and submitting regulatory reports, e.g. to Ofcom
-    Updating our HR system when required
-    Various other administration tasks

Key Skills

-    Working knowledge of using a finance system (ideally Xero)
-    Understanding of finance, financial processes and reporting
-    Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
-    Can work independently
-    Ideally a working knowledge of HR practice
-    An understanding of LGBTQ+ people and the community
-    Is flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the business
