La Voix responds to Tayce over Strictly 2025 snub

La Voix has broken her silence following Tayce’s apparent frustration at not being cast in Strictly Come Dancing 2025.
Earlier this month, it was announced that RuPaul’s Drag Race UK alum La Voix would be joining the Strictly 2025 lineup as the seventh confirmed contestant.
While many fans welcomed the announcement, not everyone was thrilled.
Tayce, who won the Strictly Christmas special at the end of 2024, took to social media just one day before La Voix's casting was revealed, cryptically tweeting:
"Guess I was too much 🪩."
She later doubled down by replying to fans with comments like "make it make sense", and confirmed that she won't be appearing on this year’s season.
While Tayce didn’t mention La Voix by name, the timing and tone sparked plenty of speculation. Now, La Voix has addressed the situation in a recent interview with Gaydio.
Speaking in an interview with Dave Cooper, La Voix admitted she hadn’t seen Tayce’s comments, but wasn’t surprised by the speculation. “She’s done enough of these shows!” she said, when asked about Tayce’s disappointment. “If the casting was announced that week, you would’ve known weeks before. Surely she wasn’t expecting to just turn on Lorraine and see her face pop up and think, ‘Oh! I guess I’m on Strictly!’”
Despite the subtle jab, La Voix made it clear she has nothing but love for her fellow queen. “Tayce did amazingly on that Christmas show,” she said. “To win it is the ultimate dream when anyone goes on. I’m so proud of her — and Kai, her partner, is phenomenal.”
La Voix even joked that if she ends up paired with Kai this season, she wouldn’t mind “a little bit of that Tayce-winning luck sprinkled over the numbers.”
La Voix will be the first drag queen to appear in a full season of Strictly Come Dancing, making her casting a huge milestone in the Strictly-verse.
The upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing — Series 23 — is set to return to BBC One this autumn, with the launch show scheduled for Saturday, 20 September 2025.
