Exeter Pride takes place on Saturday 9 May 2026, one of the South West's biggest celebrations of LGBTQ+ communities and one of the largest free Pride events in the UK. The day is built around the colourful rainbow flag march through Exeter city centre, joined by community groups, organisations, individuals, a fire engine, an ambulance, dancers, musicians and Trans Pride Exeter, who held their first dedicated march in 2025.
The 2025 event drew around 9,000 attendees with 4,000 in the march, the biggest in Exeter's Pride history, and 2026 is set to be bigger again. The festival site brings information and advice from local, national and international LGBTQ+ organisations, alongside performances, community stalls, demonstrations and family-friendly activity. The wider weekend programme includes events at venues across Exeter, with the city's queer scene coming out in force across the weekend.
Exeter Pride is free to attend, supported by sponsorship from local businesses, volunteer effort and community donations. Pride Chair Russell Back has spoken openly about how the event happens because the community believes in it, with sponsorship packages refined for 2026 to ensure genuine value and impact. Check the Exeter Pride website for the confirmed parade route, line-up, accessibility info and ways to support.
