I thought Id do a little diary thing here, to tell you all the things about our trip to Ireland!
We left on Sunday morning at 9am, I was very tired having played at Essential till 3am! Having had just a couple of hours sleep, Mike from Simon James Executive came to collect me in a very swanky Mercedes!
The flight was really good with Aer Lingus Regional (operated by Aer Arann), although I was rather disappointed that the aircraft was not my favourite of the turbo-props...I wanted to fly on a FOKKER!
We arrived at Cork and picked up our car, which is a Nissan Qashquai (Thanks to AVIS for sorting that out!)
We got to the Montenotte Hotel (where YOU can win a weekend, with flights etc all sorted...details later!) and checked into the room, all I wanted to do was SLEEP.
This was clearly not going to happen till later, as we grabbed our gear and headed into Cork City for the Pride Parade.
I was really impressed with the atmosphere on the parade, with the biggest rainbow flag I have ever seen being carried through the streets. The people could not have been friendlier and all in all, it was a brilliant day!
Ready to drop, I headed back to the hotel and got to sleep for a few hours, which was soooo nice!
After a kebab (yeah I know) we got all set up for Late Night Nicksy.
We use a little bit of kit that we plug into an Ethernet port to connect back to the studio....being so far ahead on things...the hotel was totally wireless. Normally this would be a great thing. NOT with this little toy of ours which was refusing to play nicely.
So apologies for the show on Sunday. There will be NO podcast of the show, as I want to forget it! Thanks to Simon Peel and Toby Whitehouse for playing with wires, fiddling with knobs and swearing at the equipment...all to no avail. We kind of got there eventually, but I was glad to hear the 1am news!
There will be a LNN Podcast this week, but it will be all new material, the show you SHOULD have got, so bear with me...it will come!
Tell you about Day Two (In a Big Borther type voice) tomorrow.
You can tune into the show from 3pm UK time at http://player.gaydio.co.uk
Here are some little pics from Day 1, loads more from Day 2 to come...including me kissing the Blarney Stone!
