RECRUITMENT: STATION MANAGER

CONTRACT: FULL TIME
LOCATION: MANCHESTER
SALARY: NEGOTIABLE, DOE

Gaydio is the UK’s leading LGBT+ radio brand. We broadcast FM and DAB services across a number of key cities including London, Manchester and Brighton and deliver a substantial programme of outreach activity.

We are looking for an experienced programmer, passionate about serving LGBT+ audiences, who can lead Gaydio into our next chapter of development.

You will set the content and marketing strategy for the station, and be responsible for its delivery, driving listening and engagement across different platforms. Your vision will guide programming across the broadcast output from music position to speech, along with content on digital platforms including social media. Coaching the on air team and developing new talent is central to this role, along with ensuring compliance to relevant guidance including the Broadcast Code and Key Commitments.

You’ll need to be as comfortable networking with business leaders when supporting the commercial team as you are with the delivery of community-led outreach via Gaydio Academy. You’ll manage staff and freelancers along with supporting volunteer-based activity. You’re strategic and also hands-on. A leader and team player.

The ideal candidate would also have experience as a presenter themselves, knowledge of scheduling systems such as GSelector and some technical experience.

Along with a deep understanding of the LGBT+ community, you will love radio, be full of ideas and have significant management experience, including presenting information at Board level.

The role will be office-based in Manchester with some travel to other areas of the UK, including overnights.

To express your interest in the role, please send your CV and covering letter to Ian Wallace, Business Director ian@gaydio.co.uk by Friday 23rd April 2021
