Police investigating the killing of a 38-year-old man in an apparent group attack have made an arrest in what is being called a "significant development".
Rahiem Jackson, known as Reema, was assaulted last Saturday in Leeds by four people, according to detectives.
West Yorkshire Police said its officers received a report at 10.23pm on 24 October that a man was being attacked with weapons outside a property in the city.
Emergency services then attended the scene in Hedley Chase, New Wortley.
And despite being treated by paramedics, Mr Jackson was pronounced dead soon after, as police launched a murder investigation.
A 26-year-old man has now been arrested in London on suspicion of murder.
He was detained by the Metropolitan Police and remained in custody on Friday.
Mr Jackson's family said the 38-year-old was killed in "a very cowardly, cruel and senseless act of vicious violence".
They added they were "heartbroken" and "left inconsolable".
Paying tribute, they said: "Rahiem was loved and adored by his sisters and family.
"He had a beautiful heart and beautiful soul; his smile was so infectious, and he lit up the room with his presence."
