Newport Pride hosts UK Pride 2026 on Saturday 5 September, with the South Wales city stepping up as host of the official UK Pride event for 2026. UK Pride is the annual designated celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride in the UK, awarded to a different host city each year and bringing community groups, organisations and visitors from across the country to the host town.
The parade traditionally moves through Newport city centre, with the main festival site hosting stages, community stalls, family programming and food and drink across the day. Newport's compact city centre, the Riverfront Theatre and the surrounding queer-friendly venues come together to anchor the wider weekend, with Cardiff and Bristol Pride communities making the short trip across the M4. The 2026 line-up has not yet been fully confirmed, with announcements expected via the official Newport Pride and UK Pride channels nearer the date.
Newport Pride is free to attend, with optional ticketed elements for some festival activity. As UK Pride host, the event will draw national attention and visitors from across the country, with extra programming reflecting the wider UK Pride remit. Check the Newport Pride website for the confirmed line-up, parade route, ticket details and accessibility info.
