Christian Nigel Nash celebrates Pride with the Bishop!

Bishop at Brighton pride

Over 100 people attended the 'Welcome to Pride' service at St John's Church, Preston Park,  after the Pride Parade on August 3rd.

They heard the Church of England Bishop of Chichester welcome people to Pride and celebrate the many gifts which LGBT people bring to the Church and to society. The Congregation were invited to write names of LGBT people who had inspired them on a board, or to light a candle or to place a stone to make a Cairn on the Altar, to represent all our lives together, all being part of one another.

After the Service people said they felt inspired and moved, and very pleased that the Bishop, the first ever to attend a Pride Service, had been with us. The Bishop said all around him were in party and celebration mood; he was very right about that.

It was the best Pride and best Pride Service ever
