Margate Pride 2026 takes place on Saturday 8 August at Margate Main Sands, the iconic Thanet seafront beach right at the heart of the town. Margate Pride is led by Margate Pride CIC, a not-for-profit community interest company led by LGBTQIA artists to celebrate the diversity of love in Margate. As the Margate Pride Manifesto puts it, this is a culture-rich contemporary Pride, a celebration of all of Thanet's queerness and LGBTQI life: gay, straight, everything, nothing and all the in-between.
The festival runs from 11am to 4pm at the Oval Bandstand, with stages, community stalls, family programming, food and drink across the afternoon. The parade follows from 4pm to 6pm, starting on the Eastern Esplanade alongside the Oval Bandstand and processing along the seafront to the Clock Tower on Marine Drive. Pride parade entry requires registering as an individual or part of a group via the Margate Pride channels. After-party details to follow. Margate Pride is not just a parade for the day, the team frame it as an expression of the whole community, deliberately built to encourage everyone to make it their own.
Margate Pride is free to attend. The event is delivered by Margate Pride CIC volunteers and supported by community donations and local sponsorship. Check the Margate Pride website and social channels for the confirmed line-up, parade registration, accessibility info and after-party details.
