As Sly wakes from his wild night, he is convinced he is not a drunken fool, but a Lord of great status and wealth. Our Unseemly Women spin him a tale about a wealthy merchant of Padua, and his two daughters: Katerina and Bianca. Because of Katerina’s “shrewish” disposition, her father has declared that no one shall wed Bianca until such a time as Katerina has been married. But maybe the two tales are not as unconnected as they seem…

Unseemly Women return in 2024 with their 6th annual Shakespeare, with an all female and non-binary cast. Step into a world of burlesque, clowns and cabaret; exploring one of Shakespeare’s most talked-about comedies.
