Investigation dropped into army crews who flew near Kid Rock's house

The US army has lifted a suspension on two helicopter crews which hovered near Kid Rock's swimming pool while he clapped and saluted.

The singer posted a video on X showing the aircraft flying next to ​his house in Nashville, Tennessee.

Army spokesperson Major Montrell Russell announced a review into the crews' conduct, saying they "must adhere to ‌strict safety standards, professionalism, and established flight regulations".

But the defence secretary, Pete Hegseth, later said there would be no investigation or punishment and that the suspension had been lifted.

"Carry on, patriots," he posted on X, thanking Kid Rock for his support.

'This is a pretty friendly spot'

The singer is an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump and told his local television station WKRN-TV that it's not uncommon for helicopters from nearby Fort Campbell to fly near his home.

He said he is a big supporter of the military and has performed for troops overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq.

"I think they know this is a pretty friendly spot," he said.

He added that he joined Thanksgiving celebrations with Vice President JD Vance at nearby Fort Campbell, a large army base on the Tennessee-Kentucky border.

"I've talked to some of these pilots... I'm like, 'You guys are always welcome to cruise by my house, any time,'" he said.

The helicopters were on a training mission when they stopped by Kid Rock's house, said Major Jonathon Bless, public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division.

The helicopters also flew over a "No Kings" protest against Mr Trump in Nashville.

But Major Bless said their presence was not connected with the protest.

Kid Rock said he thought it was "really cool" that they stopped to hover at his house.

Asked about possible repercussions for the helicopter crews, he said, "I think they're going to be all right. My buddy's the commander in chief."
