The real reason Dannii Minogue keeps tabs on every I Kissed A Girl relationship

"Mother's following up!"
The rumours are true, folks! The unofficial mother of the Masseria, Dannii Minogue, has revealed that she does keep tabs on every single I Kissed A Girl relationship after filming wraps - and the reason might surprise you.
The Aussie icon cemented her status as a queer icon back in May 2023 when she fronted the BBC's I Kissed A Boy. Although it was announced in March that the I Kissed A... franchise (made up of sibling shows I Kissed A Boy and I Kissed A Girl) would be coming to an end, the series built a huge LGBTQ+ following across the UK and sparked plenty of fan speculation about Dannii's relationship with the contestants once the cameras stop rolling.
Following the launch of the second and final series of I Kissed A Girl last week, Dannii has finally addressed those rumours.
Speaking exclusively to Gaydio, the host revealed she was sent footage from the cast's recent preview screening and couldn't help but do a little detective work.
"I was watching all the body language of who's sitting next to who," she laughed. "Because I'm following up... mother's following up... on where all the relationships are at."
She went on to explain that while viewers only see a snapshot of life inside the Masseria, she's regularly checking in with the show's psychiatrist, psychologist, welfare team and crew to make sure every participant is being looked after.
Dannii also gave Gaydio a rare glimpse inside the legendary "Dannii's Den" - the private room where contestants spend time with her after leaving the Masseria.
"We make it the most camp room you've ever seen," she laughed. "Every year I come back and I'm like, 'Oh my God, we've got new photo frames or a new mirror ball!'"
But beyond the glitter balls, there's another reason the room is so special. Before contestants arrive, Dannii says production removes every microphone and recording device, giving them one final private moment before they head back into the real world.
"We remove every microphone, everything... it's just having that privacy. Next summer you'll walk down the street and people will know who you are. Just enjoy this time of privacy now."
Elsewhere in the interview, Dannii looked back on the terrifying experience of recording her debut album in New York after being dropped in the Bronx during a period of violent crime, shared her excitement for Madonna's upcoming Confessions II, and revealed she'd love to perform at Mighty Hoopla before sneaking back into the crowd in drag to experience the festival incognito!
