Ella Morgan walked the Pride of Britain red carpet in a custom cherry blossom dress honouring Brianna Ghey, with Brianna's mum Esther alongside her, as Esther is recognised for her online safety campaigning.
The Married At First Sight UK star attended the ceremony alongside Brianna’s mother, Esther Ghey, who received a Special Recognition Award alongside Ian Russell and Ellen Roome for their campaigning to protect young people online.
Taking to Instagram, Ella described the ceremony as “the most beautiful, inspiring, emotional evening” and revealed the heartfelt meaning behind her outfit.
The dress featured pink and cherry blossom details, alongside the colours of the transgender Pride flag, in honour of Brianna, who was murdered in Warrington in February 2023, aged 16.
Ella explained that she had attended a memorial for Brianna in Bristol in early 2023 and wanted to create something special to celebrate her memory and legacy.
“I was so honoured to attend with Brianna Ghey’s mother Esther, who, to me, is the true definition of Pride of Britain,” Ella wrote.
She praised Esther's strength and bravery, highlighting her determination to turn unimaginable grief into positive change through campaigning and raising awareness about online safety.
Esther also shared an emotional message explaining the significance of the dress's design.
“The year Brianna died, the cherry blossom blooms were bigger than I’d ever seen them,” she said.
“Pink was her favourite colour. I took that as a sign she was okay.”
Thanking Ella for honouring her daughter, Esther added: “Ella, seeing you wear that dress meant so much.”
Esther also thanked everyone who has supported her campaigning efforts, dedicating her award to those who have helped make a difference and, most importantly, to Brianna.
“This is for all of you. And for my beautiful Brianna, who, if she were here, I know would have absolutely been strutting her stuff with Ella on the carpet.”
She ended with the moving words: “I hope wherever she is, she can see how much she is loved.”
