WORK FOR GAYDIO

Position: Presenter, Gaydio Breakfast
Remuneration: DOE
Contract: Full-Time
Published: October 30th 2020
Closing Date: December 16th 2020

Want to be part of the UK’s biggest LGBT+ radio station?
We’re looking for a rising superstar to join Dean McCullough on air, presenting Gaydio Breakfast.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone ambitious that's not afraid to get stuck in. You'll have a couple of years under your belt doing a daily show - or you've got similar length of service in the industry but gained experience in content creation elsewhere, be it podcasts, TikTok, on stage - wherever...

You know that it's time to take the next step and are ready to take on something new.

Gaydio is a fun brand and what comes out of the speakers is high on energy and smiles - we know when to be serious, but try to approach everything we do from a position of positivity. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, gender-diverse people and their allies, friends and family are our audience. They’ll want you to be comfortable being yourself on-air and you’ll feel at home with a more content-lead format that this lends itself to. A well deployed crunch’n’roll will always sound great, but there’s more to you and you’ll be keen to really connect with the listener.

We champion a fresh music mix that makes you want to get up and dance, celebrate yourself and your authenticity, with a nod to the throwbacks that shaped our listeners' ‘growing up’. In a nutshell - you’ll be as comfortable fan-girling over Little Mix’s new single as you might be raving about the first time you heard Lola’s Theme in a club.

You'll be on air across five cities, including London on DAB as well as throughout Brighton and Manchester on FM. The show will command a big chunk of your time. That said, we’re just as keen to know what makes you the ace card off-air as we are excited to hear a really stand-out demo. We're a small team and everyone brings something to the table that helps the station as a whole. You'll know you're right for the role because you'll have some other tricks up your sleeve, be it production, generating revenue, digital - you tell us. You don't need to be able to do everything from the get-go and we can help you learn new skills and mentor your progress - but you’ll be excited to push yourself to the next level too.

The role is based at our Manchester HQ so you'll need to either live in the vicinity or be comfortable moving to the area once you’re settled in.

Please provide a brief covering letter, attach or link to a recent audio/video demo (max three minutes) and attach your CV before the closing date of December 16th 2020.

Applications for this role have now closed.
