Jobie
Jobie is a singer/songwriter from a tiny village in the Suffolk countryside. Having joined a gospel choir at uni 10 years ago, performing as part of the backing vocals for Xfactor, Britain’s Got Talent & The Voice, Jobie discovered his love for music and the urge to come out from behind the chandelier props and “Become the chandelier himself”.
Since then he has written and released group & solo projects over the last 7 years and admits to enjoying making people cry with his ballads, and being the escape people need when they come to see a show. With projects mounting up this year, Jobie is primed and ready to spread himself wherever he can. Jobie says “Growing up, I never had someone to look up to as a queer role model. So being a gay guy from the countryside, performing my music in the city on such an influential platform, shows other young queer people from remote parts of the UK that it’s ok to be authentically yourself, whatever that looks like even if they’re the only ones doing it”.
