Our Company Structure
Gaydio operates across two independent companies, Gaydio Community Interest Company (CIC) and Gaydio Brighton Ltd. Each company operates a FM radio licence which carries local content in Manchester and Brighton respectively. Gaydio CIC operates the digital licences we hold across the UK. Both companies work together to deliver our family of stations, ensuring that we work as one, while meeting our independence requirements.

Ian Wallace (He/Him) - Founder and Business Director
Ian is one of the founding members of Gaydio, being involved from the very start in 2006. He’s previously worked in the Royal Mail and studied Management at the University of Derby. His main role at Gaydio is running and developing the business and is passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ people across the UK”

Alex Ryan* - Chair, Gaydio Brighton
Alex Ryan is a seasoned marketing professional based in Brighton, UK, with over a decade of experience helping businesses thrive through innovative marketing strategies.
As the founder of a two successful marketing agencies, Alex specialises in lead generation, SEO, content, email and social media marketing, delivering tailored solutions for clients in industries ranging from fitness to construction. Passionate about building communities, Alex is also actively involved in the local business scene, regularly contributing at networking events and offering insights into effective marketing approaches.
Why Gaydio? As life-long advocate for diversity and inclusion, I’ve always tried to leverage my platform to support queer communities and other underrepresented groups. Previously I sat on the board of National Student Pride and truly felt like I was doing my bit for the progression of queer rights. Gaydio has a much larger audience and has great opportunity to make even more of a difference in a world that seems, far too often, to be taking 1 step forwards and 2 steps back. That’s why I’m proud and excited to chair the Brighton Board and be engaged with developing and moulding Gaydio's vision for the future.

Toby Whitehouse - Founder and Director, Gaydio CIC
Toby was co-founder of Gaydio, and led the station’s programming until 2020. He joined radio branding company ReelWorld to head up their European client relations, and currently works for the BBC in content production. He is proud to continue supporting Gaydio’s development as a non-executive director.
Olly Halliwell - Director, Gaydio Brighton
Oli has worked in the media industry for 25 years. Oli is Client Managing Director at the media agency where he leads the Government and TfL teams. Oli has strategy and channel planning experience across most verticals, and his Government experience includes working on DfT, DHSC, DWP, Forces Recruitment, Home Office and the NHS. Oli brings to Gaydio a deep understanding of audiences, what advertisers are looking for and is proven at generating revenue.
Amber Stevens - Director, Gaydio CIC
Daniel Lamboune - Director, Gaydio Brighton
Dan has been on the Board of Gaydio Brighton since it was founded in 20XX. In his day job, Dan is a Director at a Professional Services Firm, working within Financial Services. He leads the human elements of large, often tech-driven, transformation programmes, with a focus on culture, capabilities, behaviour change, employee experience and programme management. He's a Trans Champion and leads the Financial Services Diversity in Leadership Council. Dan lives in Brighton with his husband, Mark and Cavapoo, Ozzie.
