Liberty X call for credit on new hit song using their vocals

Liberty X say Mau P's hit "Just a Little Bit More" uses their original vocal from "Just a Little", but they're not credited. They told Gaydio Breakfast they want to collaborate.

Liberty X say Mau P's club hit "Just a Little Bit More" uses their original vocals, and they haven't been credited for it.

Speaking to Gaydio Breakfast, the band said they've spotted their voices on the track by Mau P (a Dutch DJ and producer who's big on the Ibiza scene). The track samples their 2002 number one, "Just a Little".

The group were chatting about being "back in the charts" without having released anything new. The band said they weren't credited and that the songwriters were, but they couldn't see Liberty X's name.

They were clear that they like what he's done with it. "The song is a banger," they said. They added that any version of that song is going to be a hit.

But they said it's their own recording on there. "Our master vocal has been used on that track," they told us. "So he has used our actual vocals from the actual master recording on that track."

The band said: "We are not registered as featured artists." They added: "In fact, we weren't even registered as session singers until we've complained."

They also joked about the "oohs and ahs" in the new version, with one of them saying they did the oohs. Michelle Heaton was named as the voice behind them.

Their message to Mau P? "Do what you know is right." They added: "Just do the right thing and let's collaborate."

They'd even be up for a gig together. Asked if they could see themselves popping up at one of his shows, they said: "Let's see how he receives it." They joked about being his warm-up act and offered to have him support them.

Liberty X are back on the road next year. They're touring with fellow Popstars class of 2001 Hear'Say on the Popstars: The Originals tour. It runs across the UK and Ireland from 17 April to 9 May 2027, with all five original Liberty X members back together.

Their final word to Mau P was a friendly one. They told him to keep playing the record and said he's doing amazing things.

We've contacted Mau P's team for comment.
