Liverpool's Pride announces 2027 date and new community-led approach

Liverpool's Pride will return on 31 July 2027 with a new community board and joint leadership from Sahir House and LCR Pride Foundation, following feedback from this year's event.

Liverpool's Pride has confirmed it will return on Saturday 31 July 2027, with a new community board helping to shape the event alongside trustees from Sahir House and LCR Pride Foundation.

The announcement follows feedback received after this year's Pride, which took place in July. Organisers say a series of workshops and discussions have been held to help shape the future direction of the event.

A new community board will bring together people from across Liverpool's LGBTQ+ communities to play what organisers describe as "a meaningful role" in shaping and delivering Pride. The event aims to be "created with the community, reflecting the experiences, ideas and ambitions of the people it represents," according to the announcement.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Liverpool's Pride said the 2026 feedback "will play an important role in our planning, with safety, accessibility, inclusion, visibility and meaningful community involvement at the heart of Liverpool's Pride 2027."

Sahir House is the Liverpool City Region's largest and oldest LGBTQ+ charity, working with LGBTQ+ people and those living with or affected by HIV. LCR Pride Foundation aims to position Liverpool City Region as the most LGBT+ friendly region in the UK.

The two organisations worked together to deliver Liverpool's Pride in 2026, which took place on 25 July. That event came after the 2025 Pride was initially cancelled due to financial and organisational challenges, before Sahir House stepped in to deliver a scaled-back community-led celebration.
