This is a re-release celebrating a decade of love and allyship on A Gay And A NonGay. This week we're throwing it back to November 2019...
The Westboro Baptist Church, notorious for picketing funerals and spreading homophobia, are one of the most hateful and homophobic Christian organisations in the world.
Megan Phelps-Roper was born to hate, joining her family at an anti-Gay picket at just 5 years old. The pain, sadness and shame Megan and her family have caused LGBTQ+ people around the world is difficult to comprehend, but since leaving the church in 2012 Megan has dedicated her life to spreading love, compassion and understanding.
In this episode, James and Dan chat to Megan about her journey. This episode contains strong language, offensive ideology and religious rhetoric you may find offensive.
