Gaydio worked with a team of dedicated volunteers from the LGBT community in Stoke. Everyone was trained in basic media skills and the volunteers were then given free rein to create the following pages in support of their local event. Thanks a million to all the volunteers who gave up their time to carry out interviews, write articles, take photos and edit work! |

Hello and Welcome to the Stoke Pride page. Pride is so important for us to show the diversity of our city, to celebrate our achievements and to push further for equality and acceptance as a community.
Stoke Pride has grown year on year, from humble beginnings in a city centre car park known as "gay day” to the huge Pride celebration we have now in Northwood park, with live entertainment, stalls and bars. It’s a day for everyone to come together and show their Pride in their city and let everyone know that we are not ashamed of what we are: Out and Proud in The Potteries!
Take a look around our page, you’ll find interviews with the event organisers, an artist discusses the cultural events running alongside the day and local people explaining just what pride means to them. There’s personal accounts of coming out, and an insight into the local Trans community.
Plus much more! We hope you can make it to our Pride this year and enjoy our page.
