Forest Gayte Pride / East London

Forest Gayte Pride takes over East London on Friday 26 June 2026, the grassroots LGBTQ+ celebration centred in Forest Gate (which the team affectionately recast as Forest Gayte). Founded in 2017 from a single market stall and a queer night in a local pub, Forest Gayte has grown into one of East London's most distinctive neighbourhood Prides, deliberately built outside the central London commercial Pride scene.

The day combines parade activity, community stalls, performance, drag, family-friendly programming and partner-venue evening events across Forest Gate's high street, pubs and community spaces. The event takes deliberate pride in its grassroots community-first ethos, with strong representation from local LGBTQ+ groups, mutual aid networks and the diverse East London queer scene that includes a notable concentration of QTIPOC organisations and artists. Forest Gayte sits alongside the wider London Pride calendar but holds its own distinct ground as a borough-level community celebration.
