Newcastle Pride returns 25 to 26 July 2026 under new stewardship, with Curious Futures (part of Curious Arts) taking over from Northern Pride after the latter ceased trading in November 2025 after 17 years of running the event. The 2026 dates have moved one week later than usual to avoid clashing with the World Cup final weekend, with the festival continuing the city-wide model that's worked well since the move from the Town Moor in 2024.
The Newcastle Pride Arena at Times Square (Central Park) hosts headliners including Katy B, Nadine Coyle, Bimini and Danny Beard across the weekend, with drag icons, 90s favourites, top DJs and tribute acts on the bill. Across the city, the Curious Arts Stage takes over Northern Stage with queer art and culture programming, the Family and Youth activities are at the Assembly Rooms, and the Market Village returns to Greys Monument and Old Eldon Square. The iconic march remains the heart of the weekend, free for all to take part in.
The Pride Arena is ticketed, with tickets on sale now via the official site, supporting artists and operational costs. The march and city-wide satellite events, market stalls, family programming and most cultural activity remain free. Newcastle Pride has roots going back to 2008 as Pride on Tyne, has consistently drawn over 65,000 visitors, and the new chapter under Curious Futures aims to build on the Town Moor era and the recent city-wide takeover. Check the Newcastle Pride website for full programme details.
