Egypt bus crash: Sixteen people killed in area popular with tourists

Sixteen people have been killed, and 28 more injured, after a bus crash in the south Sinai area of Egypt, authorities have said.

The accident happened on the Dahab-Nuweibaa road, the health ⁠ministry ​said ​in ​a statement.

The southern Sinai peninsula is popular as a destination for tourism, especially diving and snorkelling in the Red Sea.

Last month, 15 people were ⁠killed, ​and 32 injured, ​in ​a road accident in ⁠Egypt's Ismailia ⁠Governorate.
