Gaydio worked with a team of dedicated volunteers from the LGBT community in Newcastle.

Everyone was trained in basic media skills and the volunteers were then given free rein to create the following pages in support of their local event.

Thanks a million to Sam, Amy and Micheal who gave up their time to carry out interviews, write articles, take photos and edit work!

Glitz, glamour and fabulous fancies...

Beating drums, cameras flashing, and the streets lined with people clapping, cheering and smiling at you. This is Pride. Friends, family, smiles and giggles. Dress up? Dress down. Pride is ours and we’ll stay proud.

One of the gayest cities, with 23k visitors, pride celebrations are growing year by year.

A friendly pink triangle, fabulous cabaret and some of the best drag bars around, this is home. If you think we’re tickling your fancy now, there’s more. Names such as Jessie J and Amelia Lily, with all the local bars hosting their own special events and support from charities such as AKTOutpost and Mesmac Northeast. This is a community and you want to be part of it.

Amy Morton.
