Wigan Pride takes over Wigan town centre on Saturday 8 August 2026, the council-backed free event celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion across the borough. Returning for its second year of partnership with headline sponsor Calisen, owner and installer of smart energy infrastructure, Wigan Pride 2026 follows on from the 10th anniversary in 2025 which drew 54,311 people to the town centre, an additional 20,400 over the same Saturday the previous week.
The day opens with the community parade, with parade participants pre-registered ahead of the day for health and safety reasons (no external vehicles or floats permitted, and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). The festival programme then runs across at least two stages with music and entertainment, a community performance area, family-friendly activities, and a quiet area led by partners Autism Friends. Wigan Pride is a clear demonstration that bringing people into town centres helps the local economy as well as the LGBTQ+ community. Sister event Pride in Leigh runs separately as a smaller community celebration in Leigh.
Wigan Pride is free to attend. The event is delivered by a committed group of volunteers and supported by Wigan Council and headline sponsor Calisen, with sponsorship enquiries via the Wigan Pride website. Confirmed acts, artists, special guests and full activity schedule will be announced between now and August. Check Wigan Pride on Facebook (@OfficialWiganPride) and Instagram (@wiganpride) for the latest information.
