Tommy Robinson found guilty of harassing two journalists

Tommy Robinson has been found guilty of harassing two MailOnline journalists.

The far-right activist, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, had been accused of harassment causing fear of violence to Andrew Young, an investigative reporter, and Jacob Dirnhuber, an editor at the Daily Mail and MailOnline.

He was alleged to have acted as a "bully" by hiring private investigators to find the addresses of the journalists, after the MailOnline published an article showing him on holiday in Cyprus on 4 August 2024.

Robinson was then alleged to have posted pictures of Mr Dirnhuber outside his home and cropped images of Mr Young's family members on his X account.

He was accused of telling Mr Young "I'm coming to get you" during a phone call the day after the article was published, and sending a direct message to Mr Dirnhuber saying: "I'll be knocking at your door."

Jurors heard Mr Young was provided with a close protection officer by the Daily Mail, while Mr Dirnhuber had to move house because of the alleged harassment.

Speaking from the witness box during his trial, Robinson said he wanted to put "pressure" on the journalists but denied that hiring the detectives was designed to "intimidate" them.

Describing one video message he shared on X that was directed at both journalists, Robinson told the court he was "giving a warning", adding: "I'm not coming to beat [them] up. They know that."
