Big Brother housemate Frankie comes out as bisexual in tearful Diary Room confession

Big Brother contestant Frankie Taber came out as bisexual during an emotional Diary Room scene on Tuesday night, telling viewers he'd been carrying "guilt and shame" for over a year.

Big Brother housemate Frankie Taber came out as bisexual in an emotional Diary Room moment that aired on ITV2 on Tuesday night. The 23-year-old marketing manager from London became tearful as he explained why he'd signed up for the show.

"I came on the show to come out, because I'm bisexual. I've been in pain for so long, probably a year and a half or two years, just from the guilt and shame that I'm carrying from it," he told Big Brother. Through tears, he voiced his concerns that he'd "let down a lot of people", to which he was assured that he'd not "let anyone down".

The moment came early in the series, which launched on 13 September. Earlier in Tuesday's episode, Frankie told housemates he hadn't slept and felt like he'd "went from a really big high to a really big low last night".

He said: "I knew it was gonna hit me but I didn't think it'd hit me early. It's hit me straight away." The Diary Room is the show's confessional space, where housemates speak directly to Big Brother away from the rest of the group.

The timing resonated with viewers because September is Bi Visibility Month, with Bi Visibility Day falling annually on 23 September. Fans shared messages of support on social media, with Frankie's name trending on X.

The Traitors star Freddie Fraser, who came out publicly as bisexual just weeks ago, wrote: "Big up you Frankie boy." Former Big Brother housemate Henry Southan also shared his support, writing that anyone who's come out will understand "that overwhelming feeling of anxiety, followed by the biggest sense of relief".

Big Brother airs on ITV2 and ITVX, with new episodes Sunday to Thursday at 9pm. The companion show Big Brother: The Group Chat follows straight after, hosted by Kate Lawler and GK Barry.
